Biography

Ambassador Ogunsakin-Akin Bosede I. — fondly called Akin — is a distinctive researcher and diplomat-scholar who dares where others dread. Professor of Marketing and Professor of International Business and International Relations, he is a proactive, exceptional leader who thinks three steps ahead, works to master his environment, and adapts comfortably to unexpected or unfamiliar surroundings. As President General and Chairman of the Council of the International Association of Research Scholars & Administrators Corporation (IARSAC), he leads a Delaware-incorporated research consortium with active chapters in Nigeria, Ghana, and the United States.

He was born into the family of High Chief and Mrs. Ibilola Ogunsakin in Ondo Kingdom, Ondo City, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. From early on his journey was never one of shortcuts or settling for less — he stood up to be counted at a time when his peers preferred walking under their parents' shadows, and has since had his name written in gold through hard work, pursuit of academic excellence, and devotion to community development.

He believes that successful education development entails more than investing in physical capital or closing the capital gap — it also entails acquiring and using knowledge, and closing the gap in knowledge. To confront the challenges of development in the educational sector, he holds that three tasks must be undertaken together: acquiring and adapting global knowledge while creating knowledge locally; investing in human capital to increase the ability to absorb and use knowledge; and investing in the technologies that enable both acquisition and absorption.

His scholarly identity sits at the intersection of three disciplines — Marketing, International Business, and International Relations — built across degrees earned in South Africa, the United States, the British Virgin Islands, and the Turks & Caicos. Beyond IARSAC, he serves as Pro-Chancellor of Queen Agro-Allied University of Technology, Ode-Ekiti; Chancellor of IARSAC International University (USA); Group Managing Director/CEO of Educrown Group; Editor-in-Chief of IJSRITD; and Chairman of the Editorial Board of IJRSA. The throughline across these roles is institutional capacity building — convening scholars, administering peer-reviewed publication channels, and training the next generation of research leadership.

He has supervised 12 doctoral and 20 master's candidates across Marketing, Advertising, International Relations, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Public Relations; authored notable volumes including Entrepreneurial Development, Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Business, and International Business; and delivered papers at conferences across Nigeria, Dubai, the United States, and Ghana on themes ranging from science and technology for sustainability to digital transformation, climate action, and the development of the developing world.

A philanthropist of note who does not discriminate between Christianity, Islam, or any other faith, he carries a positive energy and a genuinely kind, caring temperament — a good communicator who listens well and works to understand the needs and desires of others. He is happily married and blessed with children, and enjoys reading, research, and watching football and athletics.

By nurturing a culture of collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity, we empower our members, students and faculty to push the boundaries of knowledge and make meaningful contributions to the world.

We work with schools, institutes and universities in the public and private sectors across the globe. The initiatives developed are strategically designed to strengthen and to broaden school leadership, empower students and to engage communities, educators, businesses, governments and academic institutions.

Our initiatives often spark collaborations in multiple communities and inform policy discussions at the country level. We bring resources, improvements and community support and relentlessly advocate for excellence and equity in education for all students. Our work is inspired and driven by an unshakable belief that education is fundamental to a democratic society and that our schools, public or privately run, are essential to our economic vitality.

The Consortium consists of international researchers and educators who seek and share practical information and skills for integrating self-determination theory into their work. Our members gather occasionally to discuss recent publications, engage with scholars, and create and share resources for use in schools around the world.

The Consortium mobilizes undergraduates of all disciplines, from STEM to the Arts and Humanities, to join ambitious, faculty-led research teams in place of traditional, lecture-based classrooms. Mentored by faculty and graduate students, undergraduates are directly involved in the research and innovation process, applying their own knowledge and insights to unsolved problems.

Join us in shaping a brighter future! Join a global community committed to increasing access to global education opportunities and maximizing their impact on student achievement, professional success and organizational impact.
